This unique apple was discovered in the 1960s at a fruit farm in Airlie Oregon when the owner took a bite of an apple from a mature tree and found it was pinkish-red on the inside.
The farm was later sold in 1966, and then 20 years later, the field manager of the farm rediscovered the particular tree after taking bite from one of its apples.
The scions from tree were then grafted onto other trees. The first Hidden Rose orchard was planted in 1992.
You can use these instead of regular apples in any recipe for a gorgeous pop of pink!
