Important Info: We cannot guarantee specific maturity levels of this fruit, as it does vary greatly based on each harvest.
Origin: believed to be a domesticated descendant of Artocarpus camansi originating in New Guinea, the Maluku Islands, and the Philippines. It was initially spread to Oceania via the Austronesian expansion.
Flavor Profile: A popular breadfruit taste correlation is to freshly-baked bread when cooked, the starchy breadfruit can also taste similar to potatoes. Riper varieties taste sweeter because the starch converts to sugar.
How To Eat: Known as a fruit that could feed the world. This fruit can be eaten raw but you must wait until it is very squishy. Most people bake or boil it unripe. It goes great with some tomato paste, maple syrup, or on a salad.
