Origin: believed to be a domesticated descendant of Artocarpus camansi originating in New Guinea, the Maluku Islands, and the Philippines. It was initially spread to Oceania via the Austronesian expansion.
Flavor Profile: A popular breadfruit taste correlation is to freshly-baked bread when cooked, the starchy breadfruit can also taste similar to potatoes. Riper varieties taste sweeter because the starch converts to sugar.
How To Eat: Known as a fruit that could feed the world. This fruit can be eaten raw but you must wait until it is very squishy.
Most people roast, bake, or boil it unripe.
