Blood orange season is ending. This citrus variety in particular is full of anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant that creates its deep red pigment.
Here's a list of things you should know about our blood oranges:
1) They're certified organic and grown in California.
2) Blood oranges are ready to eat as soon as you get them!
3) They're not super easy to peel like mandarins so we recommend slicing them into wedges to eat.
4) Each fruit is not identical so every blood orange will slightly vary in red pigment.
