Blood Orange season is peaking! According to Webmd.com: Blood oranges are full of anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant. These are the pigments that give them their dark red color. These antioxidants are known for their anti-cancer properties. They help your body reduce damage from free radicals, decreasing the chance that cells will become cancerous.
A few notes for the blood oranges:
1) They're certified organic and grown in California.
2) Blood oranges are ready to eat as soon as you get them!
3) They're not super easy to peel like mandarins so we recommend slicing them into wedges to eat.
4) Each fruit is not identical so every blood orange will slightly vary in red pigment.
