For over four years, we’ve been committed to using biodegradable packaging for all of our fresh fruit boxes, even when it’s not the easiest option. We believe protecting the planet should never take a back seat to convenience.
Beyond packaging, our approach to sustainability starts at the source. By shipping directly from farms to your door, we cut out unnecessary transportation steps and reduce the need for long periods of cold storage. That means less energy used by refrigeration facilities and trucks, and fruit that arrives fresher, just as it was meant to be enjoyed.
We also make thoughtful choices when it comes to materials. While we prioritize biodegradable options, we occasionally reuse clean, recycled styrofoam that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Giving these materials a second life helps reduce waste while still protecting your fruit in transit.
Here’s a breakdown of how we safely ship your fruit:
Biodegradable “Pillows”:
Our handmade protective pillows are crafted from recycled tissue paper and shredded wood. They cushion your fruit during transit, and the wood and paper can be reused as mulch for your plants.
Recyclable, Biodegradable, and Reusable Boxes:
Our boxes are made from recycled cardboard and designed to be extra durable. They’re sturdy enough for shipping while still being compostable and reusable.
Water-Activated Paper Tape:
We seal every box with Kraft paper tape, which is fully recyclable and biodegradable. It uses a natural, starch-based adhesive that activates with water, eliminating the need for plastic tape.
Every step we take, from our farm to your doorstep, is designed to reduce waste, conserve resources, and deliver the freshest tropical fruit possible.
