Description

***Blue Java Bananas are currently available for Pre-Order. When placing a Pre-Order, this means the fruit box you have ordered is not currently in season, or is extremely limited in season. Your pre-order holds your place in line on our wait list. When Blue Java Bananas come into season and are ready to harvest from the trees, you will receive your order as soon as possible.***

Please note this fruit is in extremely high demand due to a huge surge in popularity online. Please expect a three or more year wait time after pre-ordering. We are growing a small amount on our 7.5 acre farm along with many other fruit trees.

Important Info: These Bananas are not really blue! Many photos of Blue Java on the internet are photoshopped. None of the photos on our site are edited. When it's unripe, sometimes the outer peel has a blue-ish green hue. As it ripens, the outer peel will turn fully yellow.

Origin: Blue Java Bananas are native to Southeast Asia and is a hybrid of two species of banana native to Southeast Asia — Musa balbisiana and Musa acuminata. Ice cream bananas are rare here in South Florida.

Flavor Profile: The taste is slightly tart similar to an apple banana but they have a thicker and super creamy texture. The nickname "ice cream" is for its soft serve texture- not the flavor.

How To Eat: Your Bananas will arrive unripe. Store at room temperature of 70 degrees or above for optimal ripening. Once soft all over, they are ready to eat!

First come first serve, any orders that can't be shipped this season will be reserved for next season.

The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:

  • One Fruit contains one piece of fruit (sizing varies)
  • Small Box contains up to 3-5 pounds
  • Large Box contains up to 8-10 pounds

We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
