Since the end of 2019, we have been using biodegradable packaging for all of our fresh fruit boxes.
Using biodegradable packaging for our most popular products (fresh fruit) is something that we are super excited about, as we truly feel it makes a difference in our overall footprint.
Here's a breakdown-pun intended of what we use to safely ship you fruit:
Biodegradeable "Pillows": Our hand-made "pillows" are made from recycled tissue paper and shredded wood. They protect the fruit from damage in transit. The shredded wood can be used as mulch for your plants.
Recyclable, Biodegradable, and Reusable Boxes: Cardboard is naturally a compostable material, but we also designed these boxes to be extra thick to withstand any roughing around they might get in transit. Our cardboard boxes are made from recycled paper.
Water Activated Paper Tape: Kraft paper tape is completely recyclable and biodegradable. One side is coated with a starch-based adhesive that gets sticky when activated with water.
