Origin: The name Tropical persimmon is a region-specific moniker used in South Florida to describe the Triumph persimmon. Triumph persimmons are believed to be a type of Japanese persimmon. Our Tropical Persimmons are grown on our farm in South Florida and we're excited to share them with you!
Flavor Profile: Unique jelly texture with a sweet taste that reminds us of Fall!
How To Eat: These persimmons will need time to ripen after delivery. Store at room temperature of 70 degrees or above. Ready to eat when very red and VERY soft. It should look like it is about to burst before you bite it. Best eaten on their own, but they can be frozen with bananas and blended into a delicious fruit based ice cream. (see below)
First come first serve, any orders that can't be shipped this season will be reserved for next season.
The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:
- One Fruit contains 1 piece of fruit (sizing varies)
- Small Box contains up to 3-5 pounds
- Large Box contains up to 8-10 pounds
- Extra Large Box contains up to 16-20 pounds
- Bulk Box contains up to 34-40 pounds
We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
Super Simple Persimmon Recipe:
- 1 blender full of RIPE tropical persimmons
- 1-5 dates (optional)
- 1 dash of cinnamon
Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender. No liquid is needed. It will come out perfectly thick and creamy. Pour in a bowl and enjoy with a spoon.

Delicious! Different variety than west coast persimmons; these ones aren't ripe until very soft and the skin red like a tomato. Almost like a ripe apricot.
Took advantage of the 50% off sale and made nice cream with these and bananas. Big hit with all the non vegans over the holidays.
Delicious!! Definitely a pumpkin pie flavor and undertones of vanilla. However, most took over a month to ripen. I tried placing bananas on top of them to speed it up eventually and that seemed to help. Only eat them when they’re dark red/orange and squishy.
I am a new customer and have ordered 3 times. The experience has been superb. I will continue purchasing.
I originally bought a small box of persimmons cuz I wanted to try baking them whole like I've seen in some Korean and Japanese cooking tiktok videos. Just before they're completely ruby red, slice off the top to remove the woody stem. Then slice them into quarters 2/3 down the fruit. Sprinkle a bit of coarse sea salt before popping them in a toaster oven/air fryer at 350 fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender. Then plate them with a tab of butter and enjoy. Through this method, they'll taste similar to a baked sweet potato with a hint of a tropical after taste!
The persimmons are perfect! Some are immediately ripe while others will be opening over the next few days. I love that they are not all at the same level of ripeness. These are among the best persimmons I've had. (I do side by side fruit comparisons and Miami Fruit wins every single time... ) They pick it at the right time and explain exactly when to eat the fruit. The texture of jelly comes to mind with ripe and ready to eat persimmon. These are so, so, so delicious. Even though I just ordered I may order more to freeze!

Growing up in the south, Persimmons have always been one of my favorite fruits. Ordered a small box. It was so nice having the fruit ripe one or two each day pretty much for a full month. May try a large box next season.

These Persimmons were a welcome addition to our mealtimes. It was the first time I had ever used recipes for them instead of just eating them. We made some new favorites to add to our family cookbook. I also learned to be patient for the really ripe ones. When you use them ripe it makes SO MUCH difference in your recipe.
