Long Neck @miamifruit Avocados are also known as Persea americana “Russell” is an hierloom variety. This fruit grows in the Caribbean Islands and small pockets of South Florida from the Keys to Miami. It is non gmo and not commercially grown.
This avocado has a long neck giving it a total length up to 13 in (32.5 cm); The skin is smooth, glossy, and thin. The flesh is thick and creamy. Flavor is savory and slightly salty. The seed is relatively small compared to size of the fruit and viable. Season: Aug. and Sept. Tree bears well and is recommended for home gardens.
The flesh is soft yet pliable, high in moisture content with a melting quality. The fruit has a large central pit, yet because of the fruit's size (often weighing over a pound) edible yield is still high.
We pack our boxes as full possible. The total weight varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:
- Small Box contains up to 3-6 pounds.
- Large Box contains up to 9-13 pounds.
- Extra Large Box contains up to 18-26 pounds.
- Bulk Box contains up to 36-45 pounds.
We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
