Maprang (Bouea macrophylla) is commonly known as gandaria or plum mango or mango plum in English. It is native to Southeast Asia.
It looks like an apicot on the outside and a plum on the inside. The flavor is similar to a mango and the texture is similar to a plum. It's in the same family as mango (Anacardiaceae).
How to eat: Eat the flesh inside the fruit and around the seed, similar to a mango or plum.
Maprang is picked tree ripened. It arrives ripe and ready to eat. Please be sure to eat your maprang immediately upon arrival!
The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:
- Small Box contains 2-3 pounds.
- Large Box contains up to 4-5 pounds.
