Description

The Achacha Tree (Garcinia humilis) is a rare tropical fruit tree cherished for its glossy, deep green foliage and vibrant, tangy-sweet fruit. Native to the Amazon basin of Bolivia, the Achacha (pronounced ah-cha-cha) is a unique and exciting addition for tropical fruit lovers and collectors alike. Whether you're building a backyard food forest or looking for an uncommon gem to grow in a container, this tree offers beauty, flavor, and a touch of the exotic.

This 16–20 inch tall seedling comes in a 1 Gallon Pot, making it ready for transplanting into a larger container or your garden. As it matures, the Achacha tree becomes an attractive evergreen with a dense canopy, often producing fruit after 5–7 years when grown in warm, humid climates.

The fruit is small, orange, and oval-shaped with a smooth, leathery rind. Inside, it reveals a juicy, white pulp with a perfectly balanced flavor that is sweet, tangy, and slightly effervescent, often compared to a mix of mangosteen, lemonade, and tropical candy. It’s typically enjoyed fresh, chilled, or made into refreshing beverages and desserts.

Important: Only the soft white flesh is edible. The rind and seed should not be consumed.
