Origin: The Carrie mango is a named cultivar of the mango tree that originated in South Florida in the 1940s. The Zill family selected the tree and named it after Laurence Zill's mother, Carrie Zill.
Flavor Profile: Carrie mangoes are renowned for their robust, sweet, and aromatic flavor, reminiscent of the famous Indian Alphonso mangoes. Some people also detect a subtle coconut flavor and a hint of bubblegum. The flesh is smooth, juicy, and free of fibers. It's recommended to enjoy the mango closer to the seed for the best flavor.
How To Eat: To adequately ripen, mangoes should be stored at room temperature on a counter or in a pantry at 70 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Always go by softness when determining a mango's ripeness. When they are ready to eat, mangoes will be soft all over. THIS MANGO MAY STAY GREEN WHEN RIPE.
