Description

***Sweetheart Lychee is currently available for Pre-Order. When placing a Pre-Order, this means the fruit you have ordered is not currently in season, or is extremely limited in season. Your pre-order holds your place in line on our wait list. When Sweetheart Lychee comes into season and is ready to harvest from the trees, you will receive your order as soon as possible.***

Important Info: We grow multiple varieties of Lychee here in South Florida, if you order this Sweetheart lychee box, you will receive the Sweetheart or Hak Ip variety. We only ship fresh lychee grown in Florida. The season for lychees is very short. Lychee harvesting in South Florida typically begins in mid-late May and ends in mid-late June.

Origin: Lychee is a tropical and subtropical fruit native to the Guangdong and Fujian provinces of China, and now cultivated in many parts of the world.

Flavor Profile: Sweetheart Lychee is one of the sweetest and most aromatic varieties, with very low tartness and a strong floral/rosy flavor. The seeds are often small, giving this fruit a big burst of flavor. The fresh fruit has a delicate, whitish pulp with a floral smell and a fragrant, sweet flavor.

How To Eat: After it is picked, Lychee skin stays pink for only 2 days. Imported Lychees are often sprayed with preservatives to keep them pink. This is why we do not sell imported Lychees. It is possible that the outside of your Lychees may turn brown in transit. Depending on how they are stored, they will still be good to eat 1-2 weeks after they are picked. You can prolong the oxidation by storing them in a plastic bag or airtight container. We recommend eating the lychee as soon as you get them and refrigerating any leftovers immediately. It makes the perfect on-the-go snack and is a great substitute for candy.

First come first serve, any orders that can't be shipped this season will be reserved for next season.

The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:

  • One Pound contains up to 1 pound
  • Small Box contains up to 3-5 pounds
  • Large Box contains up to 8-10 pounds

We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
