Origin: Annona is a genus of flowering plants in the sugar apple/ soursop family, Annonaceae. It is the second largest genus in the family containing approximately 166 species of mostly Neotropical and Afrotropical trees and shrubs.
Flavor Profile: Annonaceae is one of our favorite fruit families for its wide range of flavors, textures, and colors. Not only are these fruits gorgeous, but they taste delicious too!
Your Anonna Variety Box will contain 3 or more Annona varieties such as:
Soursop (Guanabana)
Red Atemoya (Temoylata)
Green Atemoya (African Pride and/or Geffner)
Sugar Apple (Sweetsop)
Purple Sugar Apple (Sweetsop)
How To Eat: These fruits ripen very quickly. We recommend storing these fruits at 70 degrees or above for optimal ripening. We recommend eating or refrigerating each one soon as it is soft. Do not refrigerate before it is ripe. Check out our Ripening Guide here for specific fruit information!
The sizes of the fruit varies greatly. They may be small or large depending on what’s ready to harvest.
Recommended Shipping Method: We recommend selecting overnight shipping at the checkout. Overnight shipping means we will ship it next day air when it is ready. It does not mean we will ship the fruit the day after you order.
First come first serve, any orders that can't be shipped this season will be reserved for next season.
The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:
- Small Box contains up to 3-5 pounds
- Large Box contains up to 8-10 pounds
We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
