Passionfruit season has returned!
Passionfruit is loaded with juicy pulp and crunchy edible seeds.
Golden Passionfruit has a thick yellow skin, often tinged with spots of lime green. The inside of its shell has soft white walls that encase a very juicy yellow-orange pulp and many little edible seeds. Its flavor is sweet, acidic, and tropical, with mild floral notes. Â
Purple Passionfruit has soft to firm purple skin. The inside of its shell has soft white walls encasing a juicy interior that is sweet, acidic, with a bit of sourness.Â
Lately, I have been enjoying passionfruit over a chilled smoothie bowl of blended mangoes, bananas, and dragonfruit.Â
Passionfruit is best enjoyed when the outer shell gets wrinkly; this is when it's most ripe.
