I really like the cacao but I am the only one who eats it at my house. I love bitter dark chocolate— the darker the better— so this is definitely my jam. These tend to mold very quickly tho so unfortunately I don’t feel I got to sufficiently enjoy them as 2/3 of the box went bad before I could get to them. I would enjoy this again in the variety box for sure but can’t consume a box of entirely just cacao by myself.
So yummy! Such a unique experience, and the fruit were so delicious and interesting! The sour/sweet fruit and the bitter/nutty seed together were such a yummy combination
I made chocolate! The pods were beautiful and it has been fun experimenting with different parts of the fruit. Making actual chocolate from a pod in a home kitchen is a daunting process, but it's really cool. Even if you don't want to go that far, the cocoa powder and nibs are great. Also, if you do roast the beans, don't throw away the husks! They make a lovely tea.
Love them and it came in perfect condition
They were interesting! I'm currently fermenting the seeds to try to enhance the flavor, so it will be a while before I really know how much I like them. As a fresh fruit the texture of the pulp is a bit odd... but the flavor is great! The raw seeds weren't that interesting but iv read that you need to ferment them to get good flavors to come out so that's what I'm doing now!
Perfect addition to my morning banana / chocolate oat milk / peanut butter smoothie and the 3 pods really made up a little rainbow! Highly recommended.
Living in the midwest, I never get to experience cacao. It arrived super fresh, it's totally worth trying!
I might have waited too long to open mine but it was still really good.
