Description

Origin: Cacao is believed to have evolved in the Upper Amazon region in an area that now includes some of Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. From there it spread Northward. Our Cacao is grown sustainably in Ecuador.

Flavor Profile: The flesh of Cacao is sweet and slightly citrusy. The seed is rich like dark chocolate or fresh coffee.

How To Eat: Cacao is ready to eat as soon as it arrives. Inside the cacao pod, you can eat the sweet flesh off the seeds. The seeds can also be eaten raw. If you want to make cacao nibs, make sure to roast or thoroughly dehydrated the seeds and then pulse blend in a food processor or blender.

Warning: Cacao seeds contain caffeine and theobromine

The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:

  • Small Box contains up to 3-5 pounds
  • Large Box contains up to 8-10 pounds
  • Extra Large Box contains up to 16-20 pounds
  • Bulk Box contains up to 34-40 pounds
  • 1 Fruit  contains 1 piece of fruit per box

We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.

Cacao Pods - Grown Sustainably in Ecuador
