Description

Origin: This is a very rare red outer skin Atemoya variety. The inside flesh is white. Atemoya is the result of a Sugar Apple and Cherimoya cross-pollination. This can happen naturally when a Cherimoya and Sugar Apple tree grow near each other. It is a rare member of the Anonna family.

(Annona Cherimola × Squamosa)

Flavor Profile: The flesh is smooth. The flavor is mildly sweet with a tiny hint of berry. Atemoya is typically more like a cherimoya in flavor and texture than a sugar apple. It has a mild sweetness. The texture is bouncy and chewy like the Geffner variety.

How To Eat:  Red Atemoya will arrive unripe. Please wait until soft all over before enjoying. This Red Atemoya variety ripens for a longer period than most Atemoya varieties. We recommend that you allow 2-4 additional days of ripening after the fruit initially gets soft. So once this Atemoya gets soft, allow 2-4 more days to ripen (depending on your environmental conditions). Proper ripeness will give you the best flavor. We recommend ripening this fruit at 70 degrees or above.

First come first serve, any orders that can't be shipped this season will be reserved for next season.

The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:

  • One Fruit contains 1 piece of fruit
  • Small box contains up to 3-4 pounds
  • Large box contains up to 6-8 pounds

We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
