The California AG department restricts the entry of many tropical fruits from Florida, but they do allow some of our fruits as long as they are thoroughly inspected for pests.
Here is a basic guide to refer to created by the California Department of Food and Agriculture: https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/plant/factsheets/BringingFruitsVeggies_to_CA.pdf
Since California grows a lot crops that feed the world, they must be concerned about a range of pests. The main pest that the cdfa finds of concern from Florida is the Caribbean Fruit Fly. You can check out this link to see a more in-depth list of fruits that could potentially carry this Caribbean Fruit Fly here: http://pi.cdfa.ca.gov/pqm/manual/htm/303.htm
The potato weevil also prevents us from sending any sweet potato to California residents.
If you live in California and want to have some Miami Fruits, you can still order the Variety Box, but we make sure to only send California addresses the California AG department approved fruits that we have available/in season.
